Payments, Fees, Payouts & Disputes
This Policy explains the buyer-paid transaction structure, seller proceeds, payment confirmation, receipts, payout holds, payout release, refunds, chargebacks and other payment-related marketplace procedures.
1. Scope
This Policy explains what buyers pay, what sellers receive, how ELRAPI buyer-side fees are calculated, how successful payments are recorded, when seller proceeds are held or released, and how refunds, disputes and chargebacks are handled.
2. What the Buyer Pays
The buyer pays the final pigeon purchase price together with the lot-specific charges disclosed by ELRAPI before payment.
- Pigeon Sale Price: the winning bid or confirmed Buy Now price.
- ELRAPI Fee: a flat buyer-paid marketplace fee assigned to the lot.
- Payment Processing Fee: a buyer-paid percentage calculated on the transaction subtotal, where permitted.
- Domestic Shipping (U.S. Only): the shipping amount assigned to the lot for qualifying domestic U.S. delivery.
International shipping, customs, import fees, export documentation, destination charges and other international costs are not included in the Domestic Shipping amount unless expressly stated.
3. Lot-Specific Fees & Snapshots
ELRAPI administration may change default fee rates and shipping amounts for future lots. Each lot stores the fee and shipping terms assigned to it when the lot is created.
4. What the Seller Receives
Under the current buyer-fee model, the seller is credited with the full final pigeon sale price plus the Domestic Shipping amount collected for that transaction, subject to refunds, reversals, disputes, chargebacks, fraud review or other authorized adjustments.
The buyer-paid ELRAPI Fee and buyer-paid Payment Processing Fee are not deducted from the pigeon sale price in the seller settlement calculation under this model.
5. Payment Processing Fee
The Payment Processing Fee is the percentage displayed for the lot and checkout and is calculated on the transaction subtotal defined above.
This fee is intended to offset payment-acceptance and transaction-processing costs. It is not part of the seller’s pigeon sale price.
6. Checkout & Payment Confirmation
After an auction or Buy Now purchase closes, ELRAPI creates a transaction and may show the buyer a Payment Pending status with a Pay Now action. Checkout is processed through ELRAPI’s payment provider.
Payment is treated as confirmed only after ELRAPI receives reliable confirmation from the payment provider and verifies the transaction identity and amount. A browser redirect alone is not intended to substitute for payment-provider confirmation.
After successful confirmation, ELRAPI records the transaction as Paid — Payout Held.
7. Buyer Receipt
ELRAPI generates a transaction receipt for each successful marketplace purchase and sends a copy to the buyer’s account email. ELRAPI may also retain the transaction record in the buyer account and marketplace records.
The receipt may show the Transaction ID, date and time, Lot ID, pigeon/listing, buyer, seller or loft, sale price, ELRAPI Fee, Payment Processing Fee, Domestic Shipping, total paid, payment status and payment-provider reference.
8. Payout Hold
After buyer payment is confirmed, the seller’s proceeds may remain held while fulfillment is completed. Payment success does not by itself require immediate release of seller proceeds to the seller’s bank account.
ELRAPI may maintain a payout hold while shipment, delivery, fraud review, Buyer Protection review, payment dispute or another legitimate issue remains unresolved. This marketplace control is not represented as a legal escrow service.
9. Shipping & Fulfillment
The seller should not ship or transfer possession until the transaction is shown as Paid in ELRAPI. After payment, the seller is responsible for lawful fulfillment, appropriate live-bird transport, and providing tracking or shipment information when applicable.
Shipping and delivery are also governed by the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
10. Payout Release
Seller proceeds become eligible for release after verified delivery under either of these conditions:
- Buyer confirmation: the buyer confirms receipt through an ELRAPI-supported process and no qualifying hold or dispute exists; or
- Time-based release: five (5) business days pass after verified delivery without a timely qualifying Buyer Protection or delivery issue.
Business days generally mean Monday through Friday excluding U.S. federal holidays, unless ELRAPI publishes a different applicable schedule. ELRAPI may release proceeds manually or through its payment provider once the transaction is eligible.
11. Refunds & Cancellations
Refunds and cancellations are governed by these policies, the Terms & Conditions, Buyer Protection Policy and applicable payment-provider rules.
An authorized full or partial refund may reduce or eliminate seller proceeds and may require recovery of funds previously released. The treatment of buyer-paid fees may depend on the reason for the refund, applicable law, payment-network rules and whether the payment provider returns its processing costs.
12. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
A chargeback or payment-provider dispute does not by itself establish that the seller violated ELRAPI rules. ELRAPI may maintain payout holds, preserve evidence, provide transaction records and request information from the buyer or seller.
Responsibility for dispute amounts, dispute fees, negative balances and related payment liabilities depends on ELRAPI’s payment-account configuration, applicable provider terms, marketplace policies and law.
13. Failed or Incomplete Payment
A winning bidder or Buy Now purchaser must complete payment when due. A failed, abandoned, rejected or unauthenticated payment does not erase the purchase obligation unless ELRAPI cancels the transaction.
Failure to pay may result in transaction cancellation, account restriction, bidding suspension or other administrative action.
14. Seller Settlement Record
ELRAPI may maintain a seller-side settlement record showing the pigeon sale price, shipping collected, seller proceeds, refunds or dispute adjustments, payout status, payout date and payment-provider references.
15. Taxes, Duties & International Charges
Taxes, customs duties, import charges, export costs, health-certificate costs and similar government or destination charges are separate from the pigeon sale price unless expressly included.
ELRAPI may collect taxes when legally required. Buyers and sellers remain responsible for obligations allocated to them by applicable law. International shipping is not included in ELRAPI’s standard Domestic Shipping amount.
16. Acceptance & Records
Users may be required to accept current legal policies before account approval, bidding, selling or payout activation. ELRAPI may preserve the policy version, acceptance time, acceptance method and related audit information.
17. Policy Changes
ELRAPI may update this Policy when fees, payment-provider requirements, payout procedures or marketplace operations change. Material changes may require renewed acceptance, while historical versions may remain archived.
18. Contact
Questions about a charge, receipt, seller payout, refund or payment dispute should be submitted through ELRAPI support. Include the Transaction ID and Lot ID when available.
This Policy should be read together with ELRAPI’s Terms & Conditions, Buyer Protection Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Privacy Policy.
